The fourth edition of La Ronde presents the work of thirteen artists in the metropolitan area of Rouen. La Ronde invites artists to dialogue with the collections and spaces of the museums.

 

In partnership with Galerie Nathalie Obadia, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen exhibits Valérie Belin’s All Star series.

 

The artist explores the universe of comics – which she uses as graphic and expressive material that “meet” the feminine characters whom she herself had created.

 

This series continues to explore the themes which are proper to Belin's work.  By juxtaposing the living and the static, the real and the fictional, Belin exposes the invisible mechanisms which at work both individually and collectively. This expression of chaos, already explored in the series Still Life, allowed us to see the disorder and absurdity of consumer culture. In this series All Star, Valérie Belin explores the toxicity of a chaotic, agitated, saturated, and obsessive mental world.
