The exhibition Autophoto is about the relation between photography  and cars.

Based on an idea by Xavier Barral and Philippe Séclier, Autophoto presents the multiple – aesthetic, social, industrial and environmental — facets of the world of cars through some 500 works from the turn of the 20th century to the present day. It brings together over 90 historical and contemporary photographs from around the world.

Valérie Belin is exhibiting her series of Engines (2002) in which the object has the characteristics of an organ one could imagine being taken from a human body. As is often in the case with this artist, the plasticity of the subject produces a heightened effect compared to what emanates from its natural appearance, putting the object in the shadowy zone between living and inanimate.
