In 1962 Frank Horvat published "I Love Striptease ». These photographs have remained etched in my memory because they showcase 3 elements with great economy: darkness, light and the body.
In my series « Black-Eyed Susan », I simulate a projection of light patterns on the surface of a face, as if I had used a slide projector in the dim light of the studio. So I metaphorically use the same kind of luminous artifice that is at work in the Striptease Series.
This exhibition is an opportunity, for me, to pay tribute to a photographer whose very great diversity of his work, his sense of experimentation and his inventiveness - and who influenced me by the memory I kept of this this particular series of photographs.
