The "Centre des monuments nationaux" is presenting the exhibition “Grand bazar - choice of Jean-Hubert Martin from the Antoine de Galbert collection” at the Château d'Oiron, from June 27 to October 2, 2021. Nearly 170 works from the Antoine de Galbert Collection are installed in the castle to interact with the permanent collection of contemporary art Curios & Mirabilia, assembled in 1993 by Jean-Hubert Martin. In the exhibition galleries, Antoine de Galbert's collection unfolds according to its own themes with an important place given to the eye, to the face and its expressions, to wounds. The confrontation between these two collections and the dialogue between the two men open up new effects of surprises. Among the works presented, Céleste Boursier-Mougenot will play her music within the 16th century walls with her piece From here to ear. Several artists are common to the two collections: Hubert Duprat, Markus Raetz, Wim Delvoye, Annette Messager, Christian Boltanski, Marina Abramovic, Bertrand Lavier, Nicolas Darrot…. Others are entering Oiron: Valérie Belin, Théo Mercier, Gilles Barbier, Stéphane Thidet, Barthélémy Toguo, Jackie Kayser, Steven Cohen ...
